I absolutely love my Kindle and have read more books on this since buying it 3 months ago than I have read printed books over the last 2 years. Initially I thought it was the novelty factor but now I am convinced it is because it is quick and convenient to use without adding bulk to my handbag. I am however a little disappointed that the agency model has pushed the price up so far, but I appreciate that in order not to devalue the publishing industry, and in order to prepare for the time when ebooks are the primary mode of production and all of the initial costs must be covered something needed to be done (although my bank account begs to differ!)
I think you've sold the Kindle to me.
